PlushBeds publishes a 15 percent affiliate payout on its own partner page, the highest rate among the brands compared here, and that relationship is one reason it is covered in depth on this site. It is not the reason it is our pick: the reasons are given with the pick. Prices and terms were checked on November 5, 2026 and can change.

Hot sleepers

Latex mattresses for hot sleepers: what in the build matters

If you already sleep hot on a foam bed, latex is the safer direction. Latex has an open cell structure, is usually made with pinhole ventilation and does not rely on body heat to work, so it tends to sleep closer to neutral.

No brand we compare publishes a temperature test, and we have not slept on these beds, so this page does not rank them by how cool they feel. It shows what each build contains that the brands themselves link to airflow and moisture.

Where PlushBeds' own pages disagree

PlushBeds warranty note: PlushBeds own pages use both "Lifetime Warranty" and a detailed 25 year structure (full replacement in years 1 to 10, prorated in years 11 to 25) in different places. Until the brand settles that in one policy document, we state no term for it and advise confirming at checkout.

The same care applies to its trial: the return trial in its FAQ and product description is 100 nights, and the 365 night figure on its page is a separate comfort guarantee for firmness adjustment, despite one section of the page labelling a money back offer at 365 nights. Our PlushBeds trial and warranty guide sets out both in full.

The materials

Why latex tends to sleep closer to neutral

Latex has an open cell structure and is usually made with pinhole ventilation, and it does not rely on body heat to work, so it tends to sleep closer to neutral. Brands in our comparison pair it with wool and cotton, which manage moisture at the surface. Memory foam works by absorbing heat, and dense foam holds that heat around the body.

Coils add another route. Hybrids feel a little more familiar if you are coming from a spring mattress, and the coils help air move through the bed. Our all latex vs hybrid guide covers the rest of that trade, and latex vs memory foam covers temperature in more depth.

Three builds worth a look

Our pick

PlushBeds Botanical Bliss, all latex under organic wool and cotton

  • 100 night return trial
  • Separate 365 Night Comfort Guarantee for firmness adjustment
  • Warranty: confirm with the brand
  • Medium (5.5 of 10) or Medium Firm (8 of 10)
  • Who it is forAnyone who wants all latex and certified organic textiles, and the most latex for the money.
  • Who it is not forSomeone coming from a spring mattress who wants that familiar feel. The hybrids suit them better.
  • Honest weaknessThe paperwork. PlushBeds' own pages describe its trial and its warranty in more than one way, as the note under the table explains.

The Botanical Bliss is latex from top to bottom and certified organic in both its latex and its textiles. The build is six layers: a GOTS certified organic cotton cover, GOTS certified organic wool, a GOTS certified organic cotton panel, a natural latex comfort layer, a GOLS certified organic latex comfort layer on the 12 inch model, and a 6 inch GOLS certified organic latex support core. There are no coils and no synthetic foam layers to soften over time.

The cover is GOTS certified organic cotton in a circular knit the brand chose for stretch and airflow. Under it, GOTS certified organic wool does the temperature and moisture work at the surface and serves as the fire barrier, so no chemical flame retardants are used.

Saatva Zenhaven, vented Talalay latex

  • 365 night trial
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Luxury Plush (4 to 5 of 10) or Gentle Firm (7 to 8 of 10)
  • Who it is forSomeone who cannot decide on firmness in advance and wants two feels in one bed.
  • Who it is not forPartners who want two different feels at the same time. The EOS Classic sets each side of the bed separately.
  • Honest weaknessReturns carry a $99 processing fee.

Zenhaven solves the firmness gamble by putting two feels in one mattress. Flip it one way for Luxury Plush, rated 4 to 5 out of 10, flip it the other way for Gentle Firm, rated 7 to 8 out of 10. The latex is natural Talalay with a five zone layer and vented airflow channels, over an organic New Zealand wool flame barrier, inside a cover that includes organic cotton. The latex is GOLS certified, and the mattress carries eco-INSTITUT and GREENGUARD Gold listings on the brand's page.

Saatva also delivers differently: free in room delivery, setup and old mattress removal, rather than a box at the door. The trial is 365 nights with a $99 processing fee on returns, and the warranty is lifetime.

Avocado Green Mattress, latex over coils

  • 1 year trial, returns after 30 days
  • 25 year limited warranty
  • Firm, Medium or Plush
  • Who it is forBuyers who want the deepest certification list and a full year to decide.
  • Who it is not forAnyone set on an all latex build with no coils.
  • Honest weaknessReturns open only after 30 days, and a return carries a $99 fee.

Avocado's argument is certification depth. The Green Mattress is certified organic at the finished product level under GOTS, and the brand lists five further standards for the whole mattress, including OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I, EWG Verified, MADE SAFE, GREENGUARD Gold and UL Formaldehyde Free. The latex is GOLS certified organic Dunlop over up to 1,379 individually wrapped coils in seven zones, needle tufted by hand in California.

The Medium feel carries 3 inches of latex at 11 inches high and is the brand's most popular. Plush carries 5 inches at 13 inches high and is positioned for side sleepers. Firm carries 2 inches at 11.5 inches. The trial is a full year, with a $99 return fee, and the warranty runs 25 years with the first 10 non prorated.

Questions buyers ask

Does latex sleep cooler than memory foam?

It tends to. Latex has an open cell structure, is usually made with pinhole ventilation and does not rely on body heat to work, so it tends to sleep closer to neutral. Memory foam works by absorbing heat, and dense foam holds that heat around the body.

Which of these sleeps coolest?

No brand we compare publishes a temperature test, and we have not slept on these beds, so we do not rank them by temperature. This page shows what each build contains instead.

Do coils help?

Hybrids pair latex with coils, and the coils help air move through the bed. The Avocado, Birch and Naturepedic are hybrids.

What does the wool do?

In the Botanical Bliss, PlushBeds states that GOTS certified organic wool does the temperature and moisture work at the surface and serves as the fire barrier.

Is the PlushBeds trial 100 nights or 365 nights?

The return trial is 100 nights. That is the figure in the PlushBeds FAQ and product description. The 365 Night Comfort Guarantee is a separate offer for firmness adjustment, not the return trial, even though one section of the PlushBeds page labels a money back offer at 365 nights.

The short version

Our pick: PlushBeds Botanical Bliss

All latex under GOTS certified organic wool and a cotton cover chosen for airflow. Read the trial as 100 nights for returns, with the 365 Night Comfort Guarantee as a separate firmness adjustment offer, and confirm the warranty term with the brand before you pay.
